Renee McGahan is not the broker you hire if you want someone to nod politely and tell you every idea is brilliant. If, however, you want someone who will tell you the truth, answer your text before you’ve finished wondering whether she saw it, and fight for you tooth and nail, she’s your girl.
A longtime PNW local with NYC and California roots, McGahan has a simple geographic philosophy: Got a house you want to buy or sell? Drop a pin. She’ll meet you there.
The same goes for clients. First-time buyer? Upsizing? Downsizing? Empty nesting? Luxury? McGahan isn’t big on labels. If you’re a decent human, chances are you’ll get along just fine.
Her business style is honest, fast and all in. Sugarcoating isn’t really her thing. Neither is waiting around for something to happen. She reads people quickly, negotiates hard and has no problem saying the thing everyone else is politely avoiding.
Apparently, it works. Most of McGahan’s business comes from repeat clients and referrals, people who appreciate honesty, hustle, fierce advocacy and the occasional inappropriate advertisement.
A self-described workaholic, McGahan still squeezes in Pilates, Orangetheory and plenty of travel. There’s Lake Tahoe when she wants to reset, New York whenever Seattle has made her a little “too polite” and France just because. This is where McGahan is happiest, wandering the Marais and getting lost. She’s also been known to close a deal or two along the way (“vacation” is a relative term for her).
McGahan has spent more than half her life volunteering with the Special Olympics, is a supporter of Seattle rugby and has been involved with the LGBTQ+ community as an ally raising funds and supporting programs.
Her philosophy remains uncomplicated: Tell the truth, outwork everyone and drop just enough curse words to keep things interesting.
