When Chris Conroy found himself at a professional crossroads, a close friend suggested real estate would be a perfect fit. The more Conroy considered it, he realized his friend was right. A graduate of Seattle University School of Law, Conroy spent much of his professional life involved in client representation, advocacy and writing — all useful skills in real estate.
Seven years later, he’s still pleased with his career choice. “It’s the best decision I ever made,” says Conroy, founding member and managing broker of Ensemble in Seattle. A life-long resident of Seattle, he grew up in Magnolia, and lives in Queen Anne. He loves the city and the independence a career in real estate affords him. “I especially appreciate that client representation in real estate is often collaborative, helping people achieve a common goal,” he says. “I really enjoy working with clients during pivotal moments in their lives, being a calming and supportive presence during what’s often a stressful time.”
Conroy maintains a broad practice, from first-time homebuyers to luxury home sales, working mostly in Seattle. But he also works throughout King County and occasionally, other surrounding areas. Patient, knowledgeable and detail-oriented, Conroy is a savvy negotiator who focuses on helping clients make the most informed decisions. A competitive swimmer, Conroy thinks the discipline and competitiveness of the sport translates to real estate. “I’m quite competitive,” he says. “When I have the opportunity to help a client achieve a particular objective, I enjoy analyzing every angle to provide them the best opportunity of success.”
In his opinion, the most successful client-broker relationships are based on honesty and preparation. Early in the relationship, he discusses the contract, contingencies and strategy, all while educating clients about market conditions. “Establishing this foundation early is essential to developing trust, confidence, and producing positive results,” he says.
Outside of work and swimming, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his French bulldog, Bodie.
