D.R. Horton broke ground on its first home in 1978 and has grown from its Texas roots into 32 states, including Washington, delivering nearly 900,000 homes to its customers.

Horton’s Rainier Ridge housing project in Puyallup, offering homes from 1,600 to 3,200 square feet and up to six bedrooms, was a finalist in the Seattle Agents’ Choice Development of the Year.

Founder Donald R. Horton remains the company chairman, setting the direction for the company that bills itself as America’s No. 1 homebuilder. Over the last 20 years, more homebuyers have chosen D.R. Horton than any other national builder, the company said.
