Washington-based homebuilder JK Monarch was acquired by Trumark Homes. The acquisition is California-based Trumark’s first foray into Pacific Northwest homebuilding.
“We have targeted expansion into the Pacific Northwest for years, and with this acquisition of JK Monarch we can capitalize on the strength of this market,” Gregg Nelson, co-founder and co-CEO of Trumark Companies, said in a press release.
Founded by Jonathan Bartels in 2011, JK Monarch is actively building in Puyallup, Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Bonney Lake, Lakewood and Enumclaw. The builder’s accolades include winning Homebuilder of the Year from the Master Builders Association of Pierce County in 2025.
“This is a very exciting time for our company and our team as we join the Trumark Homes family,” Bartels said in a press release. “What attracted me to Trumark Homes was the leadership, company values and culture, commitment to excellence and dedication to customer satisfaction. I am excited about the opportunity this provides our team members and trade partners.”
Bartels will serve in an advisory role during a transitional period as JK Monarch leaders are integrated into the existing Trumark leadership framework.
