What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

Valet parking.

Where did you grow up?

Issaquah.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

Football player and a doctor.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Bite my finger nails, drink alcohol … jk! Hang out with my kids and family and try to get some exercise to sweat it out.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Probably Chis Farley. He’s hilarious.

What is Seattle’s best-kept secret?

Our summers.

What do you love most about the industry?

The relationships with the people I have worked with, met through the business and who work at our offices. It is such an amazing experience to actually get to know one another. Also, helping people achieve homeownership.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

I am just me. I don’t try to be like others, but I am aware of the trends and everything else that comes with the business. I enjoying making people smile, and I am always trying to problem solve.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Thousands of personalities…

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

It is all about the relationships. The more people you can connect with and truly get to know, the more leads you will generate over time. It’s a long game.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

Beating cancer.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

Reading – Pre-suasion. Watching El Chapo on Netflix. NHL hockey.

What’s your favorite meal in Seattle?

Sushi.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Seattle?

Climate Pledge Arena.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

I walked in on someone showering while showing a buyer a home.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

I am 1/8th Chinese.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Suncadia. It is a quick drive. My wife and kids love it out there, and so do I. It’s peaceful, there are swimming pools, golf, wine, trails for walking and bike riding, wildlife…

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Brace change, be consistent, show up every day, brick laying.
