Neil deGrasse Tyson. I could spend years learning from him to better understand astronomy and physics. I’d really like to dig deep into quantum physics with him.
What is Seattle’s best-kept secret?
Ballard Locks, hands down. I’m always surprised at how many people have never been there. It’s such a wonderful place to relax.
What do you love most about the industry?
The people. I enjoy understanding people and what motivates them, and using that to improve my negotiation skills.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
My negotiating is my super power. I am an empath to my core, and it unlocks so much for me when I negotiate for my clients.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
I’m not sure it really qualifies as “difficult,” but working with agents who don’t take their job seriously is incredibly frustrating to me. I always feel bad for their clients, who are clearly not getting a fair shake.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Stick with it! Find your best strategy — one that plays to your skills and natural abilities — and keep doing it. The results will come, but they take time and patience.
What has been your greatest accomplishment?
I have clients who have closed eight transactions with me, and I always feel that them continuing to return is by far my greatest achievement.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I’m listening to my favorite audio book again right now — “Never Split the Difference.”
What’s your favorite meal in Seattle?
Dumplings from Din Tai Fung
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Seattle?
The Space Needle! It’s cliche, but I love that it really stands as a symbol of hope, enthusiasm, and forward-thinking.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I’m not a superstitious person at all, but I toured a home in Shoreline once where the basement made the hair on my neck stand up. I couldn’t get out of that house fast enough!
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
That I have two kids and they are 17 and 19 years old.

The island of Kauai. It’s the most peaceful, restorative place I’ve ever visited.
