Washington REALTORS® awarded Young Black Homeowners founder and CEO Anzhane Slaughter the Margo Wheeler Aspiring Leader Grant, which was created in memory of Margo Wheeler, a Seattle agent who died of cancer in January. The annual $2,500 grant is awarded to an agent who exemplifies Wheeler’s legacy of leadership, Washington REALTORS® said.

A real estate broker at RE/MAX Integrity in Maple Valley, Anzhane Slaughter has a history of community service, which began in 2012, when she championed educational reform in Seattle Public Schools. The 27-year old holds a law degree from the University of Washington but transitioned into real estate in 2018 as part of her desire to help Seattle’s Black community build financial freedom, stability and generational wealth.

Slaughter was recently appointed to the office of president of the Seattle Young Realtist Division of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers.
