New Home Co. expands into Pacific Northwest

by Emily Marek

California-based homebuilder New Home Co. is expanding further into the Pacific Northwest with the opening of a new Washington division. The news of New Home Co.’s presence in Washington comes just weeks after the company’s Oregon division establishment.

Brandon Scheibner will serve as division president for Washington operations. The veteran homebuilding executive has nearly three decades of experience in the Pacific Northwest homebuilding industry, having previously served as president of William Lyon Homes.

“Brandon has all of the strengths and market knowledge we need to be successful in Washington,” said Matthew R. Zaist, New Home Co.’s chief executive officer. “His experience, relationships and attention to detail will give us a leg up in securing land in the best locations and in delivering high quality homes that the region needs.”

New Home Co.’s first Washington neighborhood, Rivercrest, is set to break ground in June. Upon completion, the North Bend community will be home to eight residential buildings consisting of 10 attached homes each. New Home Co. expects that prices in Rivercrest will be lower than in similar communities.

“Every community we build in Washington will be in a desirable, well-established location that is close to jobs and where opportunities to offer homes at a compelling value exist,” Sheibner said. “We’re going to move fast, starting with construction at Rivercrest at North Bend where homes will be available in early 2024. We also expect to close on land transactions this year that will bring hundreds more homes to the east side of Seattle in the next 12 to 18 months.”
