Tom Skepetaris Real Estate Sales

Alchemy Real Estate

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I used to fill vending machines at the airport in the early AM hours to keep money coming in as I learned to navigate real estate.

Where did you grow up?

Magnolia in Seattle.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

A police officer.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

I do not get stressed much. That said, I like to get up at 4 a.m. to work out and then go to the office so I can be caught up from the day before and then get on with my new day.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

No specific person, but I like reading about top athletes who drive and are passionate about being the best and how they got that way.

What do you love most about the industry?

Everything. It’s the best job out there. I don’t even feel like it’s a job. I love working with buyers and sellers and being the person that helped them with all their real estate needs.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

I focus on knowing what’s for sale and building relationships with builders and sellers. This allows me to be steps ahead of other agents.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Setting correct expectations for sellers and buyers. Real estate is always changing.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Just do it. It does not matter what you do as long as you do something to promote yourself.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?

Being one of the top agents in and out of the city. I have worked hard to get to where I am.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I love watching all the real estate shows.

What’s your favorite meal in Seattle?

Pizza.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Seattle?

I like the look of the Smith Tower and the old school feel of the Rainier Club Building downtown.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

Let’s just say I have walked into homes with some crazy things happening. I can’t say much more than that. If you are an agent, you know what I mean.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

How driven I am.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

I like going to Mexico, such as Cabo. I like the laid-back feel.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Don’t overthink things. Learn and then do it.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?

HomeSpotter.
