Survey shows Realtors concerned about lack of inventory in 2022

by Lindsey Wells

Heading into the new year, lack of inventory is the top business concern among Seattle Realtors, according to a mid-July survey by Seattle King County Realtors (SKCR).

The survey asked SKCR members to identify the business challenges they anticipate in 2022. Nearly 72% named lack of inventory their primary concern, followed by multiple offers, cash offers and competition at 44%.

The impact of COVID-19 ranked third at 25%, followed closely by economic and market conditions.

Through its volunteers, SKCR plans to continue helping Realtors meet business challenges, according to a press release.

“To tackle lack of housing inventory, we have joined the Coalition for More Housing Choices, a partnership of major employers and industries seeking common-sense solutions,” the release said. “We continue to work with the Master Builders Association reform land-use policy and align zoned capacity with demand. To help members deal with the impacts of COVID-19, we worked with Gov. Jay Inslee to assure that Realtors were kept essential.”
