RE/MAX agent Tina McDonough awarded with “Good Neighbor” designation

by Liz Economou

Seattle King County REALTORS® has named Realtor Tina McDonough its Q3 “Good Neighbor” for her tireless efforts in fighting for a cure for cancer and assisting patients and their families all year long.

A Realtor with RE/MAX, McDonough has been touched personally by the disease. In 2007, she lost her friend to breast cancer. To be sure, McDonough has been on a mission to help others ever since.

Despite her grief, in that same year, she began participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-day 60-mile walk. Subsequently, she formed her own walking team – Valley Girls & Guys – to raise money and further support Susan G. Komen’s 3-Day Walk for a Cure. It grew from four walkers to hundreds, becoming the largest Susan G. Komen team in the nation.

In 2014, Girls & Guys officially became a 501(c)3 non-profit to focus on all types of cancers. The organization has raised more than $7 million since forming in 2007.

Seattle King County REALTORS® Good Neighbor Awards recognize REALTOR® members who make a positive impact in their community. Quarterly and annual awards aim to shine a light on the contributions within the real estate industry that improve the livability of our communities, as well as financially support the nonprofits that exist to do the same.
