Nate Short, Managing Broker

Coldwell Banker

A serial entrepreneur for most of his life, Nate Short chose real estate as a career after working for multiple Fortune 500 companies and starting one of the first online dental marketplaces. After selling that business in 2000, he wanted a career rooted in relationships and strong local knowledge.

Short entered real estate because it allowed him to combine his expertise and passions. “I was drawn to real estate because I realized my skills in negotiation and building rapport were incredibly valuable in a field where I could make a difference,” he shares. “A person’s home is one of the most important decisions [they] will make because it influences every part of their life.”

Since buying or selling real estate is an emotional process and a huge financial decision, Short believes that clients require more than great advice; they need professional coaching and consultation. After becoming a Certified High Performance Coach in 2015, he has used his coaching skills to provide strategic guidance on personal development and business operations to clients, agents and other entrepreneurs. “All the work I have done as a personal and professional coach has had the greatest impact on my real estate business,” he reports.

With 24 years of experience in all segments of the Seattle real estate market, Short currently specializes in luxury properties throughout the Greater Eastside. Last year, he experienced record sales in a market that has historically low transaction volumes. Moreover, he has maintained a sale price to original list price ratio of 101.7% for more than 10 years.

Outside of real estate, Short enjoys hiking, golfing, playing the guitar, working out and being with his family. He supports St. Jude Children’s Hospital and has led the Knights of Columbus at Sacred Heart Parish for the last two years.
