Seattle-King County REALTORS® sets First Citizen Award celebration

by Patrick Regan

Reservations are available for the celebration of this year’s Seattle-King County REALTORS® First Citizen Award recipient, Mary’s Place.

The July 27 event, held annually since 1939, includes dinner and reception at the Seattle Aquarium. Tickets are $125 per person.

Attendees will be able to observe an otter feeding at the aquarium. Guest speakers will include Washington state Rep. David Hackney and John Schoettler, vice president of Amazon’s Global Real Estate and Facilities.

Marty Hartman, executive director since 1999, will accept the award on behalf of Mary’s Place. Joyce Taylor, KING 5 news anchor, will serve as master of ceremonies.

This is only the third time an organization, rather than individuals or families, will be recognized with the award.

The Seattle nonprofit was singled out for its innovative approach to providing safe, inclusive shelter and housing solutions for families, along with its adaptability during the coronavirus pandemic.
