What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
My first job was at Corral West in Texas during high school, selling western wear. Think cowboy hats, slim-fit Wranglers and pearl snap shirts. I was fully committed and genuinely loved that job!
Where did you grow up?
Born and raised in Central Texas, in a small town about three hours from any major city.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a math teacher! I’ve always loved math, and my 8th grade algebra teacher was incredible. The idea of doing math all day and having summers off sounded pretty ideal. I also dreamed of being a professional tennis player, and for a while, I thought I could totally do both.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Solo trip to a cabin on the Skykomish River in Gold Bar. Perfect spot to listen to the river and get some R&R. Or a boat ride around Ames Lake — we have a pontoon boat and it’s the perfect way to unwind.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Mr. Rogers. I grew up watching him as a kid and always admired the calm, kindness, and genuine care he brought to every interaction. He seemed like the kind of person who could make anyone feel seen and safe.
What is Seattle’s best-kept secret?
It’s definitely Ames Lake in Redmond. It’s this beautiful, natural lake tucked in the woods, surrounded by trees, and still close enough to the city. It’s peaceful, welcoming and easily my happy place.
What do you love most about the industry?
I love the strategy, the storytelling and the relationships. There’s nothing better than helping my clients feel confident, informed and excited about their next chapter.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
My business partner, Mike Pavone, and I bring strategy, local know-how, and a little banter to keep things fun. We’re a true two-for-one team. We’re the kind of guys you’d enjoy sitting down with over a glass of scotch.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Standing out in a sea of agents, especially in a market as competitive as greater Seattle. But that’s where strategy, consistency, and creative problem-solving come in.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Try everything! Postcards, reels, open houses, pop-bys, and see what feels authentic and gets results. There’s no one-size-fits-all formula. What works for me might not for you. The key is consistency and staying top of mind.
What has been your greatest accomplishment?
Over the years, I’ve gotten more involved in the Ames Lake community by organizing events, welcoming new neighbors, supporting local businesses, and being a consistent resource. Through that, I’ve built strong relationships and, as a result, have been fortunate to become one of the top agents in Ames Lake.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I do love my real estate reality TV shows! Those are pretty much always playing in the background.
What’s your favorite meal in Seattle?
John Howie in the Bravern. Australian wagyu filet and a Manhattan. Close second is Minamoto — best sushi on the Eastside!
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Seattle?
The Pacific Science Center. There’s something timeless about clean lines and bold geometry. MCM vibes.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I was showing a home in Queen Anne and the client fell off a ledge and landed at the bottom of a staircase, breaking both shoulders. It was nightmare, and he had to be rushed to the hospital. In all fairness, I did tell him not to walk on that ledge … more than once!
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I’m a bit of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to home maintenance: electrical, plumbing, woodworking, landscaping … you name it. I’m not a master, but I’ve got solid intermediate experience and general knowledge.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I’m more of a “staycation” kind of guy. I love living on the lake. But if we are going somewhere, it would be a little more quiet with beach vibes.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
It’s all about ambition and hard work, keep going!
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
I utilize Canva daily!
