Several Seattle-area real estate firms made it into this year’s RealTrends 500 rankings of the top independently owned brokerages by closed transaction sides and closed sales volume, with Washington brokerage eXp Realty in Bellingham ranking highest overall by sides, meaning they amassed the highest quantity of combined seller and buyer transactions.
eXp Realty finished 2022 with 397,138 transaction sides and over $159 billion in sales volume. Their rank as the top brokerage by sides is up two spots from last year’s ranking. The brokerage also ranked fourth in the country for sales volume.
Nationally, Compass, Anywhere Advisors, HomeServices of America and Douglas Elliman Realty LLC claimed the remaining top five spots by volume, while Anywhere Advisors, HomeServices, Compass and Hanna Holdings took spots two through five based on volume.
Seattle-based Redfin also claimed one of the highest rankings: with 66,554 transaction sides in 2022 and a volume of nearly $40 billion, the firm came in at No. 6 by both sides and sales volume. Bellevue brokerage John L. Scott ranked at No. 27 by sides with 16,502 transaction sides and at No. 17 by volume, amassing over $11 billion in sales.
