Kirkland named third-best place to live in the U.S.

by Patrick Regan

Kirkland is ranked No. 3 on Money Magazine’s recently published 2022 Best Places to Live list.

Communities on the list were ranked based on economic opportunities, quality of life, diversity and where the best futures lie.

Kirkland has a population of 90,000 with a median household income of $128,000 and median home values of $1.27 million, according to the report.

“Kirkland is easy on the eyes, to put it mildly,” Money said. “Sitting on the edge of sparkling Lake Washington, residents enjoy views of both Mount Rainier and the Seattle skyline. But it’s not just looks that give locals bragging rights. They describe the Seattle suburb as a family-friendly, community-focused town with great schools and employment opportunities.”

Atlanta ranked No. 1, followed by Tempe, Arizona; Kirkland; Raleigh, N.C.; and the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago.
