“Modern never goes out of style,” Jacqueline Hamilton, an interior design expert at the UK-based company Seaforde Interiors, said in a story published by the National Association of REALTORS®. “Sleek lines and clutter-less rooms make it an easy and functional way to live. Its appeal is across the board.”
The study followed Google searches in all 50 states to determine the most popular interior design styles in each. Modern styles emerged as the most popular in 32 states, including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Washington.
“Farmhouse” interior design still remains popular as well, leading the rankings in 14 states. “Tuscan” styles have dropped in popularity, taking the lead in only three states; the only state to favor Japanese interior design is New Mexico.
