Washington ranked No. 4 for its economy and No. 9 for quality of life in WalletHub’s Best States To Live In list.
The analysis, published this month, assessed every U.S. state in five categories: affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life and safety. The study compared states in 52 livability indicators, including housing costs, education rates and the quality of hospitals.
Washington also scored well in education and health, at No. 14. The Evergreen State’s overall ranking was hurt by its affordability (No. 37) and safety (No. 48) ratings, putting Washington at No. 26 on the overall tally.
