Growing up in Wallingford, Rachel Findlay learned her way around Seattle’s many neighborhoods by bus and later became attuned to their rhythms and quirks by living throughout the city as an adult. True to her roots, she brings a unique “counter-culture luxury” vibe to her real estate business, attracting buyers who are grounded and curious about what kind of life their wealth can provide them, whether it’s a vacation home, a farm lifestyle, a green home, a new-build healthy home or simply a better school district.
Clients and colleagues describe Findlay as knowledgeable, collaborative and compassionate. She is known as a strong advocate for her clients. She’s tenacious and creative in pursuing her clients’ goals. She honed her ability to connect deeply with those she serves in her previous life as a registered nurse, and for over 23 years as a Realtor.
“It is because of my years as a registered nurse that I can be present and grounded for my real estate clients. Working with people in cancer care, surgery and pain management, I learned to listen carefully and ask the questions that pull out the next level of information,” she explains.
Coaching clients to be prepared for the competitive market in Seattle (and the region) is one her favorite pieces of the job. Findlay’s team of lender, inspector, painter, foundation expert and more has been called her “Rolodex.” She has built an excellent team to support her clients.
With each real estate transaction, Findlay donates through the Windermere Foundation to Plymouth Housing. “They create real change for people experiencing homelessness,” she shares. The mom of two also gives significant time to the Mercer Island High School marching band. The Seattle swing dancing scene, where she met her husband and her still-close circle of friends, remains dear to her heart.
