Prior to working in mortgage lending, Jenny Lyn Tran worked in nonprofit organizations, helping young women in halfway houses, as well as homeless and low-income individuals. Through her work experiences, she found a passion for helping families reach their goals by motivating them and inspiring them to break barriers. She decided to translate this passion into the real estate industry after her experience buying her own home.
“When I first purchased my home, I didn’t have the best experience,” Tran remembers. “I didn’t fully understand the whole buying process and felt like I was not educated on details of a mortgage. I had been working in the banking industry for over 15 years, and there was an opportunity to become a mortgage loan officer. For me, this was an opportunity to really make a difference in the homebuying experience by being transparent and educating homebuyers on what they need to know.”
Tran has skills in assisting all types of borrowers, but she specializes in working with physicians’ and nurses’ specialty home loans, self-employed borrowers and cannabis industry borrowers. In the past year, she was nominated by her peers as the Salal Credit Union Employee of the Year. However, her biggest professional accomplishment has been building a multimillion-dollar brand that people trust. “Lend.by.Jenn is now a real estate brand that people love, trust and can resonate with,” she insists. “I am able to be my authentic self and find humor in the business that I do.”
At the end of the day, what separates Tran from other lenders is her grit and ability to go above and beyond for her clients. “The way I treat my clients and hold space for them,” she says, “is the same way I’d treat any person — with kindness, openness and respect.”
