Which 2 King County communities are on the list of the country’s priciest ZIP codes?

Two King County communities are among the nation’s 121 most expensive ZIP codes, according to a new PropertyShark report.

PropertyShark analyzed residential transactions between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30 to determine its list of the most expensive ZIP codes in the country. 

Medina ZIP code 98039 and its median home price of $4 million tied for the No. 14 most expensive area in the U.S. On Mercer Island, ZIP code 98040 ranked No. 63, with a median home price of $2.3 million. 

With two, Washington was one of six states with more than one ZIP code on the list. California led the way with 80, followed by 19 in New York, six in New Jersey, five in Massachusetts and four in Connecticut. 

The priciest ZIP code in the U.S. was Atherton (94027) in San Mateo County, California, where the median sale price is $7.9 million, followed by Sagaponack (11962) in the Hamptons on New York’s Long Island, where the median sale price stands at $5.95 million.
