The first half of 2025 brought a wave of moving activity across the nation. A new report from U-Haul  identified the most common states of origin for do-it-yourself movers who relocated to Seattle. 

Topping the list were Oregon, California, Texas, Arizona and Idaho, followed by Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Montana and Florida.  

U-Haul identified Portland, Oregon; the Bay Area (San Francisco and San Jose); Phoenix; Los Angeles; and Denver as the top cities of origin for new Seattlites.  

The main feeders within the state of Washington were Spokane, Vancouver Bellingham, Yakima and Bremerton.
