The average American spends roughly $1,700 on their monthly rent, according to a new report from RentCafe. But how far does that budget stretch across the ZIP codes that make up the Seattle metropolitan area?
RentCafe analyzed apartment sizes in ZIP codes across the country to determine which areas give the typical renter the most bang for their buck. In Seattle, renters can get the most apartment in Richmond Beach/Innis Arden/Broadview (98177), where a $1,700 monthly budget garners 1,056 square feet of space.
Conversely, Seattleites get the least space in the University District (75205), where $1,700 only gets you 460 square feet — well below the national average of 944 square feet.
