In a recent survey conducted by Seattle King County REALTORS, housing affordability was the No. 1 advocacy priority based on responses from 285 members.
Solutions to homelessness and business taxes on real estate came in second and third, respectively.
“Seattle King County REALTORS believes that housing availability and affordability is an absolute necessity for solving the housing crisis,” read the group’s news release. “We will continue to vigorously advocate for increasing housing supply by supporting actions to address missing middle housing options such as [accessory dwelling units], duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, condominiums, courtyard apartments and up zones near transit and rail stations.”
Meanwhile, zoning and its impact on limited inventory took fourth place, while local economic development, including business growth, jobs and housing development, ranked number five.
Fair housing came in the middle at number six, among twelve categories.
