Richard Hobson, Vice President, Mortgage Lending

Guaranteed Rate Affinity

Working closely with some of the top brokers in the city gives Richard Hobson an understanding of how they work and insight into ways he can be most supportive of them and their business. Hobson, vice president of mortgage lending with Guaranteed Rate Affinity, assists real estate brokers in the Seattle/Bellevue market and has a reputation for closing deals quickly. With an entirely referral-based business, he brings a professional and transparent approach to mortgage lending in the Greater Seattle and Washington areas.

“My goal is to simplify the mortgage process, make the home loan experience easy to navigate and be available to clients from application to closing,” Hobson says. “I take pride in thoroughly educating my customers throughout the mortgage transaction so they fully understand their options and feel comfortable with their chosen loan program.”

With 17 years of experience in the industry, he is responsive, has a keen understanding of the marketplace and takes a team mentality when partnering with agents. He recently helped a real estate broker win a competitive bidding situation for their client that included offers from more than 20 other prospective buyers.

Originally from England, Hobson began working in the mortgage business when he lived across the pond. He graduated with honors from Sheffield University in England with a bachelor’s degree in business and puts both the soft and hard skills he attained at school to use each day at work. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous President’s Club and Chairman’s Circle awards, as well as Five Star Professional awards for the past eight years. Clients appreciate his patience, attention to detail, timely follow-up and ability to find a loan that suits their specific needs.
