Kenneth B. Cox, Producing Branch Manager

Maryanne Cox, Business Development Coordinator

Although they are adept at assisting all types of people with a variety of loan products, Kenneth B. Cox and Maryanne Cox primarily focus on veterans. The father-daughter team’s philosophy is “education first.” They know that buying a home is typically the biggest financial decision in a person’s life, and they want each client to be confident that they’ve made the right one.

Ken is an advocate for disabled veterans and has been teaching VA Home Buying Benefit workshops in the Joint Base Lewis McChord area and surrounding communities for more than four decades. Veterans and soldiers learn about their hard-earned benefits during these free workshops, which often lead to personal consultations. Veterans can also choose from various classes that cover everything from budgeting to investing and credit improvement. The casual environment frequently invites impromptu question-and-answer sessions.

“All questions are good questions, and we want people to walk away feeling informed and empowered,” Ken says. “It’s a win-win for us to see people light up when they learn about opportunities that they had no idea they even had. We try to be available and resourceful and teach people the tools to succeed!”

The hope is that when they do decide to buy a home, they will use the services that Ken and Maryanne provide and refer friends and family to them.

Ken joined the mortgage banking industry more than 45 years ago after serving in the military and graduating from college. He knew serving his brothers and sisters in arms was what he wanted to do for his career. Inspired by her dad, Maryanne joined the family business in 2000 after finishing high school. “I plan to continue working in the family business, helping people achieve their homeownership dreams for years to come,” Maryanne shares.

While their aim is to become a go-to resource for veterans and their families, they also service buyers, sellers and investors at all price points. Says Maryanne, “Working for Rate provides us with every tool needed to succeed and successfully service our entire community alike.”
