Seattle emerged as one of the top ultra-luxury markets in the first half of 2023, according to the Mid-Year Ultra-Luxury report from Compass.
The brokerage handled 14 sales in the $10 million and up range during the first two quarters of the year, with a total sales volume of $221.47 million. That’s a nearly 56% increase in the quantity of ultra-luxury sales and a 115.89% increase in volume.
“In our market, there are limited ultra luxury listings and they are almost always waterfront,” shared Compass agent Greg Rosenwald. “Specializing in waterfront, you learn that the luxury buyer has discerning taste and can move quickly when the right property becomes available. At these price points, interest rates do not really affect the buyer.”
“The good properties will always sell,” Rosenwald added.
Despite limited inventory, Greater Seattle’s ultra-luxury sales numbers are among the highest in the country — the market ranks at No. 14 in the nation for both sales volume and transactions.
The most expensive Compass listing in the first half of 2023 was a $14.9 million home listed by Tere Foster and Maya Skillman; the brokerage’s most expensive buyer-listed sale was a $14.5 million transaction brokered by Greg Rosenwald.
