Washington has been named one of the 10 safest states in the U.S., according to WalletHub’s 2022’s Safest States in America list.
WalletHub compared all 50 states across five metrics covering key safety indicators, including personal and residential safety, financial safety, road safety, workplace safety and emergency preparedness. States were also compared across 53 key safety indicators.
Washington ranked No. 9 on the list overall. It ranked No. 5 for workplace safety, seventh for financial safety, ninth for emergency preparedness and 15th for road safety. The Evergreen State ranked last in law enforcement per capita.
The top 10 safest states, according to WalletHub, in order: Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Utah, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Minnesota, Washington and Rhode Island.
