Washington is home to the 10th most expensive ZIP code in the United States, according to a new PropertyShark report. The annual report ranks the 100 priciest ZIP codes in the U.S.
Communities were ranked by closed home sales between Jan. 1 and Oct. 22. Atherton, Calif., took the No. 1 spot with a median sale price of $7.47 million.
The annual report saw record-setting numbers for 2021, with the 10 priciest U.S. ZIP codes now sporting median sales prices of $4 million and up. The 10 most expensive ZIP codes were claimed by Washington, California, Massachusetts, New York and Florida.
The Pacific Northwest was represented by Washington’s Medina and Mercer Island. Medina’s 98039 reached a $4 million median sale price, the result of a 24% year over year increase that secured its spot as the 10th priciest ZIP code in the country, according to the report.
Mercer Island’s 98040 landed at No. 82 on the list, posting a median sale price of $1,795,000.
