Seattle King County Realtors (SKCR) recently announced Dr. Ben Danielson as the 83rd recipient of the Seattle-King County First Citizen Award.
The former medical director of the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic was honored at a civic banquet held at the Seattle Art Museum on Oct. 28.
Danielson, a pediatrician, is known for his advocacy of health and well-being for children and their families, according to a press release.
“Throughout his distinguished career, Benjamin S. Danielson, M.D., has been known for incorporating a sense of complete care with every patient he sees,” the release said. “This longtime advocate for equitable health care embodies the motto at the clinic where he practiced for nearly two decades: ‘Quality care with dignity.’”
Earlier this year, Danielson joined the University of Washington School of Medicine as a part-time pediatrician and clinical professor of pediatrics.
“We know children need understanding and encouragement to know they can make a difference,” said Lenny Wilkens, the 2013 First Citizen Award recipient. “Ben does that all the time; he touches them, they see the light.”
Danielson is SKCR’s first honoree from the medical community since 1992.
