With her natural aptitude for leadership and influencing others, family history in real estate and construction, and background in finance and economics, Emily Bort has enjoyed a 20-year career in the mortgage business. Known for thinking on her feet to make quick work of complex lending situations, she continues to see growth year over year and is on pace to increase her business 40% over 2024.

Bort’s intuitive ability to read others allows her to connect with clients on a deeper level and help them reach their goals. “The market shifted after the refinance boom,” she reflects. “I innovated early and found new ways to show up for my clients and business partners.”

Social media, particularly Instagram, has been an important tool for Bort in recent years. “I’ve made new business partner relationships and have been able to reach my clients in a way that resonates with them,” she shares. In 2024, her efforts earned her the Implementer Award from digital marketing expert Neel Dhingra’s Forward Academy.

However, Bort knows that all the marketing in the world doesn’t matter if a loan officer doesn’t understand their loan programs. She takes pride in knowing how to match programs to borrowers and demonstrating why a particular option is best. “I want everyone [who] works with me to feel like they have clarity and confidence in the process and that the result will be what I say it will be,” she explains.

Having raised three sons, motherhood is central to Bort’s life. She is also a distance runner and volunteer running coach, approaching lending with the same tenacity, dedication and drive that she would a difficult marathon.
